Big game. Especially off the weekend disappointment against Ottawa and the blown lead against the NY Islanders. Bobrovsky rocking the 3.53 GAA with a .882 save %. I'm sure he will be a leaking sieve tonight.

Much of it hasn't been Bobrovsky's (or Montembault's) fault. The Panthers have played very loose defense many nights and tried to outscore it. Bob hasn't been at his best, either, but GAA and save percentage reflect team D as much as goalie play.

I wonder if that is the highest paid third line in the history of the NHL?

No idea but the question I have in regards to that is Morgan Frost a first line NHL center? Just a number. If they play well tonight they might be the first line.

I know someone has to be listed as the top line but i expect the top 9 to be pretty even as far as even strength time. Bill, why not just list Sean's line as the top line moving forward?

Well his career against the Flyers has been lights out. Hopefully they can put a few past him tonight. I'm surprised Frost has been recalled, by all accounts he's not ready for the NHL. They don't really have any other options. Maybe he pots a goal, or gets an assist. If he plays a strong game tonight, it builds his confidence and maybe he sticks. That would be great.

No matter how Bill lists it, whichever line is centered by Couturier is the "top" line in my opinion.

No update on Patrick after practice yesterday? A quarter of the season is in the books, he's still not practicing. If I'm not mistaken this was an issue with Patrick since the summer. The fact there isn't any improvement with the medication and treatment seems to be an awful sign. At this point it's hard to imagine him being back playing games anytime soon. Unbelievable really.

I really like what AV said about the $20M third line, no one gets a free pass and they are all on notice. This is the deepest lineup we've had in years, lets get going here.

I feel bad for NoPa.
As I said yesterday I don't see him playing any games this year and possibly not any this season.

A number 2 overall pick not available for an entire season (Patrick) and a number 14
overall pick out for at least his 2nd season (Morin). This is a tragedy that the Flyers will have to find a way to recover from. The Patrick issue is why they had to spend "stupid" money on a guy like Hayes, the Morin issue caused Braun and Niskanen to be needed. "The best laid plans of mice and men oft go astray."

^Hayes I agree. However, Morin doesn't impact Niskaknen or Braun at all, injury happened after both moves and it was clear as day we needed more veteran dman after last season. Any complaints with Niskanen are absurd.

I’m sure on an island where I believe Frost should begin in the bottom six. Limit his ice time, balance out his overall game. I’m still in a disagreement that Farabee deserves top unit PP time.

Morin was pick # 11. Even if Morin didn't suffer two major knee injuries, he was going to struggle becoming a NHL regular imo. The pick was just a swing and a miss unfortunately. You just can't take a project that high in a draft. There are too many good players still on the board. Patrick struggled his first two years, there were flashes, but for the most part he was underwhelming for a # 2 overall. That said, missing a third season which is big in development is tough. I have my doubts that he will be able to have an uninterrupted career due to this condition.

I think maybe he's saying if Morin didn't have a couple injuries and became an NHL regular? I'm not really sure. But either way I'm really happy with Niskanen so far, and not as down on Braun as a lot of people either.
